Bong Joon Ho shot his shot, and now he has John Carpenter in his corner.

The Academy Award-winning Parasite filmmaker interviewed the master of horror following a 4K screening of The Thing at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

Joon Ho concluded the conversation by asking Carpenter to compose the music for his “next, next” movie, which will be a horror film.

“Oh, I wanna do your score!” Carpenter agreed. They sealed the deal with a handshake, after which Joon Ho raised his fists in triumph.

You can watch the exchange in a video shared by Karen Han on Twitter below.

Joon Ho’s latest, Mickey 17, is in theaters now. Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo  star in the sci-fi comedy thriller, based on Edward Ashton‘s 2022 novel Mickey 7.

Carpenter has quite a year ahead. He’ll receive a Hollywood Walk of Fame star on April 3, release Lost Themes: 10th Anniversary Expanded Edition on May 9, and perform concerts in New York and Los Angeles beginning in October.
