Did you know John Malkovich could sing?
Listen to the Academy Award nominee’s mesmerizing pop vocals on “Dina, Simone,” the first single from the Opus soundtrack, below.
Available now on all streaming platforms, the track is written and produced by Grammy winners Nile Rodgers (Beyoncé, Rihanna) and The-Dream (Beyoncé, Daft Punk).
It will be released as part of Opus: The Moretti EP on March 14 — the same day the film opens in theaters from A24.
In Opus, a young writer is invited to the remote compound of a legendary pop star who mysteriously disappeared 30 years ago. Surrounded by the star’s cult of sycophants and intoxicated journalists, she finds herself in the middle of his twisted plan.
Malkovich stars as the sinister pop star alongside Ayo Edebiri, Juliette Lewis, Murray Bartlett, Amber Midthunder, Young Mazino, Stephanie Suganami, Tatanka Means, and Tony Hale.
The satirical horror-thriller marks the feature debut of writer-director Mark Anthony Green.
Meagan Navarro wrote in her review out of Sundance, “Opus is at its best when it’s a campy satire of pop culture, led by two powerhouse performances, but it utterly fails as a genre exercise.”
