Buthers Bluff, a gory throwback to ’80s slashers, will be released on VOD on March 11 from Breaking Glass Pictures.

Explore the urban legend of the Hogman in the trailer below.

A group of college students venture to a reclusive Texas town where 28 people have mysteriously vanished over the past two decades seeking to uncover the truth behind the Hogman legend for their thesis project. What begins as an ambitious academic endeavor turns into a horrifying fight for survival.

Michael Fischer, Paige Steakley, and Johnny Huang star with Paul T. Taylor (Hellraiser: Judgment), Bill Oberst Jr. (3 from Hell), Jeremy London (Mallrats), L.C. Holt (You’re Next), Brinke Stevens (The Slumber Party Massacre), and Bill Johnson (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2).

William Instone and Matt Rifley co-direct from a script by Instone and Renfield Rasputin.

“William Instone masterfully sets the tone in Butchers Bluff, a blood-soaked homage to 1980s slasher films,” praised Breaking Glass CEO Rich Wolff. “His confident—and unapologetically brutal—direction makes for an unforgettable viewing experience.”

“Rich Wolff understood exactly what we were going for with the throwback tribute to 1980s slasher film,” Instone added, “And was willing to put some skin in the game to help us finish up the final polish we needed before releasing this passion project to world. The Breaking Glass team has been very supportive and transparent. I’m looking forward to an on going working relationship with the company.”
