The next movie from Paul W.S. Anderson (Mortal Kombat, Event Horizon, Resident Evil, Monster Hunter) is titled In the Lost Lands and adapts “Game of Thrones” creator George R.R. Martin’s short story. Today brings a first look at Milla Jovovich and Dave Bautista mid-battle and a release date.

Look for In the Lost Lands in theaters on February 28, 2025.

The story “centers on a queen who, desperate to fulfill her love, makes a daring play: she sends the powerful and feared sorceress Gray Alys (Mila Jovovich) to the ghostly wilderness of the Lost Lands in search of a magical power, where the sorceress and her guide, the drifter Boyce (Dave Bautista), must outwit and outfight man and demon.”

Anderson co-wrote the script with Constantin Werner. The director previously told Deadline, “With In the Lost Lands, we’ve created a movie with a completely unique visual style and storytelling that uses cutting-edge technology to bring the story to life like never before. So, it was always important to me that it be seen on the big screen. That’s why I couldn’t be more thrilled that Vertical is bringing In the Lost Lands to American theaters.”

Milla Jovovich most recently teamed up with Anderson on Monster Hunter. The director is next slated to helm a video game adaptation of The House of the Dead.

Producers include Jeremy Bolt (Resident Evil), Anderson, Jovovich, Bautista, and Jonathan Meisner through their production company Dream Bros Entertainment and Werner.

With In the Lost Lands now dated for early next year, expect a trailer to follow soon.
