Matheus Prado (born on February 12, 1989) is a Brazilian filmmaker and writer. He directed his first short film in 2011 while working as an art director at an advertising agency in Paraná. Following that, in 2012, he became one of the country's pioneers in the web series format, writing and directing the production ""Em Algum Lugar no Tempo", where he began to develop his style. In the same year, he also released the short film "A Casa do Campo", which has accumulated over 200,000 views on YouTube.
In 2017, he produced his first feature film, titled "O Som da Sua Voz". The production premiered in the commercial circuit of Mato Grosso and was soon published on YouTube, where it has garnered over 40,000 views. In 2019, he released his second feature film, "Só Mais um Dia", which also enjoyed public success and is now available for streaming.
Graduated in journalism with specializations in cinema, audiovisual language, marketing, and branding, he also serves as a university professor in Cinema and Journalism courses in the state of Mato Grosso. Beyond the screen, he is a Brazilian writer with five published books. His work spans various genres, from historical romance to high fantasy, but he aims to maintain his focus on thrillers and horror stories.
In 2024, he became a member of the Brazilian Academy of Cinema.
