Fresh off its premiere at Sundance, the horror movie Together has been acquired by distributor NEON in a massive deal estimated to be somewhere in the ballpark of $10 million. It’s the first major deal out of Sundance this year, and Variety was the first to report the news.
NEON will release Together in theaters everywhere on August 1, 2025.
Real-life spouses Alison Brie and Dave Franco star in Together, which comes from first-time writer/director Michael Shanks. The film “puts a meta spin on the body horror film,” and “follows a codependent couple that moves to the remote countryside to become even closer. And they do, on a nightmarish physical level, thanks to a supernatural force.”
Variety details the Sundance bidding war, “A24 was also in the running at other point, with other studios, including Mubi, kicking the tires. It’s not clear what the final price tag is, but sources said the bidding was well over $10 million at one point in recent days. One source even put it at $15 million, which would make it one of the biggest deals in Sundance history.”
