Netflix has revealed that Guillermo del Toro‘s Frankenstein will be released in November.

The announcement was accompanied by a new image featuring Oscar Isaac as mad scientist Victor Frankenstein.

Jacob Elordi plays Frankenstein’s monster. Mia Goth and Christoph Waltz co-star as Elizabeth and Dr. Pretorius, respectively.

The cast also includes Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, Charles Dance, Christian Convery, and Ralph Ineson.

“This film has been on my mind since I was a child — for 50 years. I’ve been trying to make it for 20 to 25 years. In fact, some people may even think I am a little bit obsessed with Frankenstein,” del Toro told the audience at the Next on Netflix event.

“And they probably would be right. You see, over the decades, the character has fused with my soul in a way that it has become an autobiography. It doesn’t get more personal than this.”

In addition to writing and directing, del Toro produces with J. Miles Dale (The Shape of Water, Nightmare Alley) and Scott Stuber (Ted, “The Umbrella Academy”).

In the new adaptation of Mary Shelley’s seminal 1818 novel, Victor Frankenstein, a brilliant but egotistical scientist, brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.
