Fresh off his return to The Grammys last night, The Weeknd (Abel Tesfaye) is back this morning with a first look at Lionsgate’s upcoming horror movie Hurry Up Tomorrow.
The singer stars alongside Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan in this year’s Hurry Up Tomorrow, which is said to be both inspired by as well featuring new music from The Weeknd.
Hurry Up Tomorrow releases in theaters on May 16, 2025, and Entertainment Weekly has provided us with first look images along with fresh insights this morning.
For starters, Trey Edward Shults (It Comes at Night) wrote and directed the feature film. The official plot synopsis details, “a musician plagued by insomnia gets pulled into an odyssey with a stranger (Jenna Ortega) who begins to unravel the very core of his existence.”
The director details, “It’s about an artist, you could say, on the verge of a mental breakdown. He meets this woman, and they go on this odyssey together. It’s a mix of psychological thriller and drama. I honestly feel like I’ve never seen a movie quite like it.”
Jenna Ortega, meanwhile, describes Hurry Up Tomorrow as an “experimental telling of what it means to be an artist who is changing, evolving, managing their past while trying not to fear the unknown. What a mental block can do to one’s sense of self.”
