Masters of the Universe has found its Ram-Man in stunt performer Jon Xue Zhang (Kraven the Hunter), who has been added to the cast alongside Sasheer Zamata (“Agatha All Along”) as Suzie and Christian Vunipola (Wildflower) as Hussein.

They join Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man, Camila Mendes as Teela, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-at-Arms, and Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress.

The cast also includes Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Malcom/Fisto, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man, Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops, James Purefoy as King Randor, and Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena.

Production on the live-action film is currently underway in London for a June 5, 2026 release via Amazon MGM Studios.

Travis Knight (Bumblebee) will direct from a script by Chris Butler (ParaNorman), reworked from earlier drafts by David Callaham (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and Aaron & Adam Nee (The Lost City).

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the movie is expected to follow a young man who discovers his secret legacy as the prince of an alien planet. He must recover a magic sword and return home to protect his kingdom.

Mattel launched Masters of the Universe with a toy line in 1982 followed by the “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” cartoon from 1983-1985. The franchise now includes multiple animated series, toy lines, comics, video games, and books, along with a 1987 live-action film.
