Beneath the Storm, the shark thriller from Norwegian filmmaker Tommy Wirkola (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Dead Snow, Violent Night), is now swimming into a 2026 release along with an updated title, Shiver, Deadline reports.
Shiver was originally set to release this summer on August 1. Now, the film is taking up prime real estate for shark horror by swimming into Independence Day weekend on July 3, 2026.
The holiday weekend calls the mother of all shark horror movies to mind: Steven Spielberg’s Jaws. The summer blockbuster turns 50 this year and famously took place over the Fourth of July holiday weekend, where a great white shark terrorized the beachside town of Amity.
