Our favorite horror actors rarely limit themselves to the world of horror and the world of horror alone, and we love to support them when they step outside the confines of the genre. Brad Dourif, for example, makes a guest appearance on Max’s medical drama “The Pitt” alongside real-life daughter Fiona this week, while Lauren LaVera will next be seen in a romantic comedy.
Lauren LaVera has of course made a name for herself here in the horror community as final girl Sienna Shaw in Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3, and while we wait for Sienna’s return in the upcoming Terrifier 4, LaVera’s next movie offers up something a little different. It’s a romantic comedy titled Dreaming of You, and Coming Soon exclusively debuted the trailer this week.
Fittingly, the film does deal in nightmares, something LaVera knows a lot about!
In director Jack McCafferty’s upcoming Dreaming of You, “Miles and his teddy bear must survive Miles’s stress-induced nightmares after Miles falls for the girl of his dreams.”
Jack McCafferty also stars alongside Lauren LaVera, Ian Ross, Jake Westphal, Katie Marovitch, and Liz Priestly, with Kevin Giles playing the film’s “Shadow Demon.”
Dreaming of You will be available on Amazon, Apple TV, Google Play, YouTube Movies, Fandango At Home, Hoopla, Cable and Satellite On Demand on April 15, 2025.
“The film is all about connections and communication. It can be hard for some people to find the courage to open up,” McCafferty said in a statement. “We used dreams to explore how someone’s fears can manifest in one’s mind to impede that needed communication. We took inspiration from my own history of night terrors and anxiety and twisted them to tell a story full of fun jokes poking fun at the things that keep us up at night. We handle very serious topics in some of the most playful ways possible. I’m very proud of that.”
