The horror-comedy franchise Attack of the Killer Tomatoes is coming back to life for the first time in over 30 years with Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence, a brand new movie announced by Deadline this week. It will be the franchise’s fifth installment.
From director David Ferino, the upcoming Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: Organic Intelligence is said to be “pitting the eternal power of nature against AI’s best and brightest.”
The cast includes David Koechner (Anchorman) as the U.S. president’s Press Secretary and John Astin (The Addams Family) as Professor Nicholas Mortimer Gangreen.
Dan Bakkedahl (Veep), Daniel Roebuck (The Munsters), Catherine Corcoran (Terrifier), Paul Bates (Coming to America), and Eric Roberts (The Dark Knight) also star.
Anchor Bay Entertainment will release the new Killer Tomatoes movie this Halloween.
In the original Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, which was released way back in 1978, “A group of scientists band together to save the world from mutated killer tomatoes.”
The film spawned three sequels – Return of the Killer Tomatoes! (1988), Killer Tomatoes Strike Back! (1991), and Killer Tomatoes Eat France! (1992) – plus a 1990s animated series.
