JURASSIC WORLD REBIRTH Stomps Past $700 Million At The Box Office
Director Gareth Edwards’ dinosaur thrill ride is one of the year’s biggest hits.

Four weekends into its run and Jurassic World Rebirth cannot be stopped. Directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, The Creator), the seventh entry in the Jurassic franchise passed another major milestone, even as Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps opened to a whopping $218 million globally, including $118 million domestically. Welcome to the $700 million club.

Rebirth, which stars the likes of Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali, pulled in an estimated $13 million in North America over the weekend, which was good enough for number three on the charts behind Superman ($24.8 million) and Fantastic Four. With another $23.5 million collected overseas, that now brings Edwards’ latest to $718.3 million globally.
It turns out that people still really love dinosaurs, it seems. This certainly appears to be a rebound from Jurassic World Dominion. Though that movie made $1 billion globally, it was met with the worst reviews in the history of the series. Meanwhile, word of mouth for this latest entry has been rather strong. Had this been another critical disaster, we'd be having a very different conversation right now.
