One of the most iconic musicals of all time is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary this year, and it’s marking half a century in style. Based on the stage musical by Richard O’Brien, The Rocky Horror Picture Show is taking over the world with a whole new slate of celebrations for its gold anniversary, running all throughout the fall in various ways across the globe.

Beginning on September 23, the Rocky Horror Picture Show Spectacular Tour will travel through over fifty cities in the US and Canada, featuring a screening of the movie with a shadow cast and audience participation, as well as appearances from stars Barry Bostwick, Patricia Quinn, and Nell Campbell. A special screening of the new 4K version of the film will also take place at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles on September 26, and the official Rocky Horror fan convention will take over the Roxy Theatre in Hollywood on September 27.

The 4K version of the film will be hitting theaters around the country through October, and on october 4, Cinespia will present a special screening under the stars at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, featuring an interactive shadow cast, special guests, DJ sets, time warp dance party, giveaways, selfie moments, fan festivities and a free themed photobooth. But if you can’t make it to the theater, don’t worry — the new 4K version of the film arrives on Blu-ray on October 7, in a collectible limited edition steelbook, as well as on digital.

The film’s iconic soundtrack is also getting a much-requested reissue on vinyl, with a deluxe edition pressed in 180 gram red and gold vinyl arriving on October 10, featuring a heavyweight gold-foil jacket, and a new designed inner sleeve featuring never-before-seen photos and production diary excerpts from producer Richard Hartley. The Grammy Museum will also be hosting a special screening of the film on October 15, followed by a panel discussion celebrating its iconic soundtrack featuring musician Fat Mike.

More announcements about The Rocky Horror Picture Show’s 50th anniversary will arrive throughout the fall, including reveals of all new merchandise, including collabs with Funko, Loungefly, RockLove Jewelry, and more.
