Exclusive Trailer: Indie Slasher THE HAUNTED FOREST Slices Up FrightFest This Month
Ahead of its World Premiere at London's FrightFest later this month, we've got an exclusive trailer reveal for The Haunted Forest, the latest horror feature from filmmaker Keith Boynton (The Winter House).
Starring Grayson Gwaze (Awake in LA), Kaitlyn Lunardi (The Hangman), Cedric Gegel (The Coroner's Assistant) and Meghan Reed (Ray of Sunshine), The Haunted Forest follows Zach, a horror-movie obsessive who'd rather draw gruesome comic books in class than concentrate on his studies.
From a story by Devin McEwan, an official logline reads:
When his cousin Mark invites him to work at the legendary Haunted Forest, Zach is thrilled beyond belief. On his first night, he meets Sarah, a beautiful and intriguing makeup artist, as well as Jacko, a veteran employee who takes Zach under his wing. Zach is living his best life, indulging his passion for all things morbid – but when Jacko is found dead, the magical world of the Forest begins to seem sinister, and Zach can't help but wonder where the killer will strike next…
The indie slasher was filmed at Markoff's Haunted Forest, home of the longest scare trail in America, making it full of meta frights. Behind the scenes, Cassie D'Agostino and Mashka Wolfe serve as producers, with SFX head Paul Brubacher (The Jester).
The Haunted Forest has its World Premiere on FrightFest's Discovery Screen Three at 8:55pm on Sunday 24 August. Check out our exclusive trailer below:
