The legendary film festival returns to Austin's Alamo Drafthouse from September 18 - 25.
The legendary Fantastic Fest has revealed the lineup of this year's utterly stacked 20th Anniversary Edition, boasting 78 feature films including a massive 45 World, 15 North American and 13 U.S. Premieres.
Among the many, many highlights hitting Austin's Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar from September 18 – 25: World Premieres of Scott Derrickson'sBlack Phone 2, Renny Harlin's The Strangers: Chapter 2, V/H/S/HALLOWEEN, Corin Hardy'sWhistle, with Primate, the latest from 47 Meters Down‘s Johannes Roberts, opening the fest.
Rep screenings include the World Premiere of the 4K restoration of Tom Stern and Alex Winter's 1993 cult classic Freaked, as well as the U.S. Premiere of the 4K restoration of Angel's Egg, the mind-bending 1985 anime from Ghost in the Shell director Mamoru Oshii.
Of course, Fantastic Fest wouldn't be Fantastic Fest without its iconic extra-curricular events, this year including Shudder's opening night party with medieval metal from Castle Rats, a medieval drag show, a fundraiser for The Transgender Film Center, with exclusive merch from Super Yaki, the Ghoulish Book Fair and, of course, Fantastic Fest classics like the Fantastic Feud, the Fantastic Debates, and an epic Closing Night Party at a secret location to close out the week.
