Korean animated horror Exorcism Chronicles: The Beginning hits theaters nationwide on October 17 following screenings at last year's Annecy and Sitges Film Festivals, with Viva Pictures dropping a new teaser trailer today.

Adapted from the bestselling Korean serial novel Toemarok, Exorcism Chronicles: The Beginning is described as a blend of supernatural horror, martial arts, and a gripping coming-of-age journey. Written by Lee Dong Ha and directed by Kim Dong-Chul, the pic follows:

When a demonic uprising threatens to end the world as they know it, a monk and an excommunicated priest join forces to protect a powerful young boy and the next generation of magic. As dark forces close in, the unlikely trio must confront their inner demons.

Choi Han, Nam Doh-hyeong, Jung Yoo-jung, and Kim Yeon-woo provide their vocal talents, with the film's ending song “Beastmode” performed by K-pop boyband Monsta X.
