THE JESTER 2 Plays A Nasty Magic Trick In Exclusive Clip
It’s certainly not a great week if you hate clowns. First came the Helloween trailer about the killer clown craze, and now, FANGORIA is excited to premiere an exclusive clip from the upcoming horror sequel The Jester 2, which comes to theaters next month for just two nights only, pitting a young magician against what might turn out to be the devil himself.
Written and directed by Colin Krawchuk, The Jester 2 stars Michael Sheffield (returning from the first film as The Jester himself), Kaitlyn Trentham, Jessica Ambuehl, Dingani Beza, and Hassen Kacem, among others. The film’s synopsis is as follows:
On Halloween night, teen magician Max finds herself locked in a brutal showdown with the Jester, a nightmarish and supernatural trickster with real dark magic and a killer act. As illusions turn lethal and every escape is a trap, Max must pull off the ultimate trick: staying alive. On this deadly night, the only escape… is to beat the devil at its own game.
The film serves as a follow-up to 2023’s The Jester, also co-written and directed by Krawchuk, and in our clip, The Jester himself takes the spotlight as he terrorizes a young stranger. After tripping him with his rather jaunty cane, the killer — whose face is covered by a clown’s mask that’s been sewn onto his skin — handcuffs him and stuffs a magic handkerchief down his throat, pulling at it until, presumably, something truly nasty happens. What a rubbish magic trick!
The Jester 2 comes to theaters nationwide on September 15 and 16, in partnership with Fathom. Check out our exclusive clip below:
