Be Careful Where You Step While Watching This Exclusive RABBIT TRAP Clip

Horror fans are probably well aware that messing with the fae is no laughing matter. We’ve seen our fair share on film over the years — but another kind is coming creeping around the corner as we ease into fall. FANGORIA is excited to present an exclusive clip from Rabbit Trap, the all-new folk horror film starring Dev Patel that hits theaters this week.
Starring Patel alongside Rosy McEwen and Jade Croot, Rabbit Trap is written and directed by Bryn Chainey in his feature film debut, and is produced through SpectreVision, the company behind iconic films like Mandy and A Girl Walk Home Alone at Night. The film’s synopsis is as follows:
Darcy and Daphne Davenport are freshly decamped from London and taking up residence in an isolated cottage deep in the Welsh countryside in search of creative renewal and acoustic inspiration. When the couple set about exploring their new environs, recording instruments in tow, Darcy stumbles upon a “faerie circle” that emits a strange, unidentifiable frequency; this odd discovery is followed closely by the appearance of an otherworldly child who claims to live nearby and is eager to befriend the Davenports. Soon the child becomes a fixture in their household, alternately ingratiating himself and raising suspicions, and exposing unacknowledged rifts and unexamined secrets that threaten to wreak psychological and spiritual havoc in the lives of his makeshift adoptive parents.
In our exclusive clip, an unknown voice talks about the veil between worlds, and how easy it is to break in certain places, while Patel’s Darcy looks around the woods, unsettled by something he can’t quite place. Called to hurry up by his wife, he obeys, but the voice speaks of fairies guiding people to a “new home,” just as he approaches a fairy circle, which is clearly more than meets the eye.
“I’m passionate about making this film for a number of reasons. It’s partly based on my own experiences of living through childhood abuse and the effect it has had on my relationships as an adult,” said Chainey in a statement. “When you come from a toxic upbringing, the prospect of creating a family of your own can feel like walking back into a nightmare.I truly believe horror cinema is a unique vessel to empathize with experiences invisible to the naked eye, especially the ethereal dread of those living with trauma. The Rabbit Trap will be a psychological horror that is a feast for the senses, deeply personal and singularly weird, yet full of heart and catharsis.”
Rabbit Trap hits theaters this Friday, September 12. Check out our exclusive clip below:
