Trick ‘r Treat is heading to theaters in newly restored 4K this creepy season thanks to Fathom Events, with an extra special addition of the 1996 animated short Season’s Greetings, which served as a precursor to Michael Dougherty‘s 2007 Halloween cult classic.

Starring Dylan Baker (Hunters), Rochelle Aytes (Watson), Anna Paquin (True Blood) and Brian Cox (Succession), the anthology horror Trick ‘r Treat tells four Halloween horror stories loosely connected by the adorable Sam, the burlap-headed trick-or-treating demon who does NOT like his Halloween traditions to be broken.

Writer/director Dougherty, also behind another seasonal horror classic with 2015's Krampus, provides a brand new intro that will be played ahead of both Trick ‘r Treat and Season’s Greetings, which will be in theaters on two dates only – October 14 and 16 – so don't miss out.

In an official statement, Tom Lucas, Vice President of Studio Relations at Fathom Entertainment, had this to say of the Trick ‘r Treat rerelease:

“Horror fans have long been thirsting for Trick ‘r Treat to take its rightful place back on the big screen and in cinemas nationwide. Fathom is thrilled to bring this classic horror film back in theatres in sparkling 4K with our partners just in time for Halloween […] A stellar cast helps make Trick ‘r Treat a frightening cinematic experience fans will not want to miss!”

Fans have been clamoring for a Trick ‘r Treat sequel for years, and according to Dougherty, the lack of one is not from lack of trying on his end.
