DON’T OPEN THE DOOR: Tyrese Gibson To Star In Horror-Thriller From Deon Taylor
Fast & Furious star Tyrese Gibson is set to star in horror-thriller Don't Open the Door from director Deon Taylor (Fear, Meet the Blacks), Deadline reports today.
While plot details are under wraps, Deadline notes that Don't Open the Door will also launch a graphic novel-inspired universe that “pushes the story beyond the screen.” Previously, the pic has been described as “an elevated horror rooted in real-world trauma and dread” that fuses “cerebral tension with existential fear.” Consider us intrigued!
Behind the scenes, Don't Open the Door is co-financed and produced by Tommy Oliver and Gerren Crochet of Confluential Films (Black Love, The Perfect Find) under its new horror imprint New Fear Unlocked, alongside Roxanne Avent Taylor and Omar Joseph for Hidden Empire.
Don't Open the Door reunites Gibson and Taylor following 2019 action thriller Black and Blue, about which Gibson had to say the following to Deadline::
“I don’t just trust Deon with my performance, I trust him with my legacy. Black and Blue was the beginning of something real between us. Now, with Don’t Open the Door, we’re stepping into a story that’s even more personal, something layered, and rooted in purpose.”
Taylor adds:
