Oh God, Tim And Eric Are Writing A Horror Movie

If you've ever pressed play on an episode of Tim & Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! on the wrong side of 3am, the following news will probably not come as a surprise to you: Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim are currently writing a horror movie.
The comedy duo, known collectively as Tim & Eric, revealed the news last week at the premiere of Justin Tipping's sports horror HIM, in which Heidecker has a role. Per Deadline:
“We’re actually writing a horror movie that is going to be much sicker than most people are going to want to watch.”
And again, if you've ever seen any of the pair's previous work, which blends that signature Adult Swim surrealism with hefty helpings of disgust, you'll know that Heidecker almost certainly isn't exaggerating here.
Both Heidecker and Wareheim have dabbled in horror before, the former having had a supporting roles in Flying Lotus' Kuso, Jordan Peele's Us and Kyle Mooney's Y2K, with Wareheim appearing alongside Dan Stevens in Onslaught, the upcoming action-horror from Adam Wingard. The potential horror movie would mark the pair's second feature directed together, following 2012's Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie.
While Heidecker did note that nothing is set in stone yet with the untitled horror, saying “We’ll see if it gets made”, now is a good time for comedians making the jump into our favorite genre. Barbarian‘s Zach Cregger, currently hot off the success of this year's Weapons, cut his teeth as a member of the comedy troupe Whitest Kids U'Know, and of course, Jordan Peele himself broke through with the sketch series Key & Peele, alongside Keegan-Michael Key. This year too it was announced that another Adult Swim alum, Casper Kelly (Too Many Cooks), is working on Buddy, a “unique” horror movie starring Cristin Miloti.
Needless to say, we'll be watching whatever Heidecker and Wareheim are cooking up with great interest. Stay tuned for updates!
