THE BRIDE! Lives In First Trailer For Maggie Gyllenhaal’s Monster Movie

Warner Bros. Pictures has brought The Bride! to life, with the first trailer for Maggie Gyllenhaal's monster movie starring Christian Bale and Jessie Buckley.
Set for release on March 6, 2026, The Bride! is inspired by James Whale’s Bride of Frankenstein from 1935 and, of course, and Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel Frankenstein. The pic also stars Penélope Cruz, Annette Bening, Peter Sarsgaard and Maggie's own brother, Jake Gyllenhaal.
An official plot synopsis reads:
“A lonely Frankenstein travels to 1930s Chicago to seek the aid of a Dr. Euphronius in creating a companion for himself. The two reinvigorate a murdered young woman and the Bride is born. She is beyond what either of them intended, igniting a combustible romance, the attention of the police and a wild and radical social movement.”
Gyllenhaal directs The Bride! from her own screenplay and produces alongside Emma Tillinger Koskoff, Talia Kleinhendler and Osnat Handelsman Keren. Executive producers are Carla Raij, David Webb and Courtney Kivowitz.
With The Bride! trailer and Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein creeping ever closer, it's a good time to be a fan of the Modern Prometheus. Check out the new trailer below, and stay tuned for more as we get it.
