The Best Holiday Of The Year Takes A Deadly Turn In New V/H/S/HALLOWEEN Trailer
Shudder isn’t giving up on outdated media just yet — in fact, it’s become one of their biggest players, and they’ve just revealed six tapes full of terrifying new stories. The streamer just unveiled a new trailer for V/H/S/HALLOWEEN, the latest in their series of analogue horror stories that brings even more scares to our favorite time of the year.
Halloween is the eighth installment in the V/H/S franchise, after the titular first film became a hit and spawned numerous sequels, including V/H/S/2, V/H/S: Viral, V/H/S/94, V/H/S/99, V/H/S/85, and V/H/S/BEYOND, the latter of which hit Shudder last year. The series has seen numerous acclaimed writers and directors contribute their ghoulish points of view to each anthology, with segments from the likes of Ti West, Radio Silence, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, Kate Siegel, Flying Lotus, and The Guest’s Simon Barrett and Adam Wingard.
This newest installment features six new stories from a range of filmmakers, including Vixen founder Micheline Pitt-Norman co-directing the segment Home Haunt with her husband R.H. Norman, as well as Bryan M. Ferguson directing Diet Phantasma. Other segments include Casper Kelly’s Fun Size, Alex Ross Perry’s Kidprint, Paco Plaza’s Ut Supra Sic Infra, and Appendage director Anna Zlokovic tackling Coochie Coochie Coo.
This newest installment in the V/H/S series debuts as part of Shudder’s Season of Screams event, the bookend to their extensive tenth anniversary celebrations, which spotlight everything from 28 Weeks Later to The Blair Witch Project and a brand new Ghoul Log. The franchise is one of many horror projects the streamer has shepherded to success over the years, a list which includes everything from Deadstream and Oddity to Dangerous Animals and The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula.
