Remembered fondly as America’s first horror theme park, SpookyWorld gets the spotlight in a new documentary titled Spooktacular! that’s arriving just in time for Halloween.
Launched in 1991 by David Bertolino, SpookyWorld drew over a million thrill-seekers in 11 years and defined ‘90s horror culture. Featuring icons like Tom Savini, Alice Cooper, Elvira, and Linda Blair, Spooktacular! is a nostalgic scream-fest for horror fans. Watch the trailer below.
Executive produced by Tom Savini, Spooktacular! comes to digital on October 3, 2025.

Quinn Monahan directed the documentary, which was written by Gail Jorden.

Landry told us, “[SpookyWorld] revolutionized the way the haunt industry conducted business and what they created really propelled big haunts into pop culture and to where they are today. Located in a rural region of Massachusetts in a small farming community, the park attracted millions of customers between 1991-1998 and launched the modern haunt industry.”
