First-of-its-kind documentary Monster Girls gets a brand new trailer today, with pre-orders now open for a February 2026 release.

Directed by FX artist and filmmaker Jessie Seitz (Jakob’s Wife, Beyond Horror: The History and Subculture of Red Films), Monster Girls is a celebration and focus on the history and current work of women in the field of special FX, and includes interviews with Ve Neill (Beetlejuice, Batman Returns), Jennifer Aspinall (Toxic Avenger, Street Trash), Missy Munster (Slipknot, Ice Nine Kills), KC Mussman (Nocturnal Designz) and Darcy the Mail Girl herself, Diana Prince (The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs, Slashercise).

In a previous statement, Seitz expanded on her inspiration for Monster Girls:

“This project came about because I was having trouble finding any sort of definitive list of women in my field […] I started sifting through IMDB pages and was shocked to find so many women behind some of cinema’s most iconic looks. All I could think was ‘Why haven’t I heard of them? Why are these artists not household names the same way their male colleagues are?’. I pulled together a pitch deck and with the help of my producers I’ve been able to piece together this sort of hidden history.”

Monster Girls, which has been two years in the making, is produced by John Joseph Dunn (Best Served Cold), Jen Shelby (Black Mold), and Luke Boyce (Revealer).

Check out the new trailer below, and pre-order your copy of Monster Girls from now until October 17 right here.
