Alamo Drafthouse Announces Kaiju-Sized Godzilla Day Merch Line & Special Screenings
Get your hands on these goodies before they're gone.

Godzilla Day is coming up next month, and Alamo Drafthouse is setting up some major celebrations for the kaiju’s 71st birthday. Partnering with Toho International, the cinema chain is releasing numerous new pieces of exclusive merchandise featuring Godzilla himself, as well as hosting special screenings around the country.
On Godzilla Day itself, November 3, over forty Alamo Drafthouse locations will be screening The Return of Godzilla, originally released in 1984 and rarely screened in the US. San Francisco area fans can also spend the day at a mystery marathon of Godzilla films the day before, November 2, at the chain’s Westfield Valley Fair location, which features dozens of pieces of Godzilla memorabilia. Fans who attend the screenings will have a chance to secure a limited edition Godzilla Day t-shirt, designed by Chris Bilheimer, which will only be available with tickets purchased before October 17.
If you can’t make it to the screenings but still want merch, never fear — Alamo Drafthouse is also expanding their signature Godzilla collection with a half-dozen new products available from October 27. The biggest item is the first ever Godzilla popcorn bucket, designed by Scott Sugiuchi and based on the Showa Era version of the creature, and is the first in a line of buckets planned to continue into 2026 and beyond. Each bucket will be numbered in a limited run of 6,000 and comes in a custom collector’s box.
The collection also included a Mothra Winged Mug (limited to 5,000 units), a kaiju-themed enamel pin set, and a King of the Monsters hat, all designed by Sugiuchi, as well as a Godzilla in Color hoodie, designed by Tom Whalen.
