Described as “a unique and risqué psychological horror that blends intimacy with unease,” The Events Surrounding a Peeping Tom promises a haunting, surreal vision from Fierman that explores voyeurism, addiction, and the fragile line between recovery and obsession.
The story unfolds through the perspective of Martin Malone, a reclusive loner struggling with a voyeuristic compulsion, portrayed by Damian Maffei (The Strangers: Prey at Night, Haunt). No longer able to hide behind a mask, Martin is forced to embark on a road to recovery and self-discovery.
However, as he attempts to rebuild his life, he becomes fixated on a mysterious woman (Kate Kiddo), compelled to uncover who she is and why he feels drawn to her.
When Martin’s addictions come calling and he digs deeper into her world, he soon spots something more sinister following him as he descends into a labyrinth of fever dreams, guided by the ghosts of his past and the demons that never left.
Terry Kiser (Weekend at Bernie’s, Friday the 13th Part VII), Kamarra Cole (Round the Decay), Allison Pittel (Screamboat), and Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp) also star.
“We’re really excited to have The Events Surrounding a Peeping Tom premiering at this year’s New York City Horror Film Festival, in the state where the project was conceived and nurtured for so long,” says Maffei. “I have a tremendous amount of respect for NYCHFF and what the Hein family continues to do, carrying on this incredible tradition that Michael started. I believe TESAPT is a worthy addition to their lineup, and I’m ecstatic for people to finally be able to see it.”
The film is produced by Ryan James (Cannibal Comedian) alongside Maffei, Fierman and Rose, in association with Fuzz on the Lens Productions ( series, ), and features original music by composer Alexander Taylor (), cinematography by Jan-Michael Losada (), editing by Dan Ballester (), and production design by Chris Rowan ().
