You'll find new and classic horror among the best horror movies on Netflix. The streamer has expanded the number of scary movies for October and has the premiere of a new film and a new series just for Halloween, along with some true fright films that you should catch, especially if you've never seen them, and some lesser-known movies that could enhance your Autumn chills.

Monster: The Ed Gein Story is the third season of the Monster biographical series created by Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan, and is the first season that Brennan has created solo without Murphy. It centers on the real-life killer who has inspired horror filmmakers with his ghoulish criminal actions, including grave robbing and making decorations from the exhumed corpses.

Indonesian director Kimo Stamboel's newest film, The Elixir, is due to be released this month as well. It is a zombie shocker in which the search for eternal youth causes an undead outbreak and marks the first time that Stamboel has directed a zombie film.

But you've got to have the classics, and Netflix has George Romero's still terrifying Night of the Living Dead and Bryan Bertino's more recent but still brutal slasher The Strangers to turn your fall into the most scream-tastic season.
