The Shorts awards, which come with a prize package from post-production house Cut and Measure, include Last Call winning Best Short overall, as well as Kylie Aoibheann taking home Best Director for The Dysphoria, and Nicole Elliot earning Best Performance for Jeff. The Dysphoria also won Best Special Effects, and the jury also awarded Nathan Ginter a special jury mention for Filmmaker to Watch.
Brooklyn Horror Film Festival also hands out the Leviathan Award every year, created to honor the luminaries of horror and acknowledge their contributions to the genre. This year’s award went to Ernest Dickerson, the cinematographer and director behind such titles as Tales From the Crypt: Demon Knight, Tales From the Darkside, and Bones.
