Mutant And Arrow Launch New Physical Media Banner With DONNIE DARKO 4K UHD
Two genre giants teaming up to bring more goodies to your collection.

Genre giants Mutant and Arrow Video are teaming up to launch an exclusive line of ultra high-definition Blu-ray releases under the banner Mutant Mediabook, starting with a new 4K UHD release of cult classic Donnie Darko.
The first release in the Mutant Mediabook series, the Donnie Darko release comes with 4K restorations of both the Theatrical Cut and the Director’s Cut from the original camera negatives by Arrow Films, supervised and approved by director Richard Kelly and cinematographer Steven Poster, as well as brand new artwork, a 32-page media book, a limited edition rigid slipcase, and tons of special features including audio commentary with star Jake Gyllenhaal, B-roll footage, deleted scenes, documentary and much more. Mutant Mediabook's Donnie Darko is now available today at madebymutant.com.
If you didn't come of age during the 90s and missed out on 2001's Donnie Darko becoming a formative part of your personality, the psychological sci-fi thriller stars Gyllenhaal as the titular troubled teen, who is plagued by visions of Frank, a mysterious figure in a rabbit costume who informs him that the world will end in 28 days.
Spencer Hickman, Co-Founder of Mutant, had the following to say about the new collaboration with Arrow:
“It’s no secret we are obsessed with physical media over here at Mutant, and one sandbox we’ve always wanted to play in is home video, so we are all thrilled to be launching this partnership with the incredible folks over at Arrow Video to enable us to do just that […] Our new home video line will feature exclusive brand-new artwork housed inside our beautiful Mutant Mediabook, and initial numbered pressings will come with an exclusive slipcase. Each release will be stacked with essays and photos that will hopefully bring fans closer to their favorite movies. I’m personally thrilled that Donnie Darko is our first release, as the film means a great deal to me. I think we’ve managed to bring something fresh to the iconography of this classic film with Greg Ruth’s incredibly elegant and beautiful artwork, and Award-winning designer Craig Oldham has done an outstanding job on the layout of the entire package. We just couldn’t be prouder of this release kicking off this new line of physical media from Mutant.
