BLACK PHONE 2 Passes $100 Million Mark At The Box Office
Halloween was rough for movie theaters but the Grabber passed a major milestone.

Halloween is behind us but it was a scary one indeed, at least for anyone who happens to own a movie theater or a major Hollywood studio. That’s because Halloween weekend was the worst of 2025 so far at the box office, with not a single movie eclipsing the $10 million mark domestically. It was bleak. In and amongst the rubble though, there was a bright spot in the form of Black Phone 2, which crossed a major milestone. Welcome to the $100 million club.

Universal and Blumhouse’s Black Phone 2 added another $8 million domestically over the weekend, coming in at number two on the charts behind Regretting You ($8.1 million). It was a big of a pillow fight for the crown, to be certain. Be that as it may, director Scott Derrickson’s sequel has now passed the $100 million mark. To date, the film has earned $61.4 million domestically to go with $43.2 million internationally for a running total of $104.7 million worldwide. It was already Blumhouse’s biggest movie of 2025 but now it’s a certifiable hit.
Overall, the domestic box office generated less than $49 million during the Halloween frame, a terrible result. That’s in no small part because new releases such as Bugonia ($4.8 million) and the animated Stitch Head ($2.1 million) did little to entice moviegoers.
The sequel once again centers on Finn (Mason Thames) and Gwen (Madeleine McGraw) as they both struggle after their encounter with The Grabber (Ethan Hawke). He has been dead for a few years but when Gwen begins having strange dreams, she convinces Finn to visit a winter camp with her, one that has ties to their family. As they seek to solve a deadly mystery, The Grabber is there waiting for them from beyond the grave.
