Three women are separated by time but united in terror in The Wailing, a supernatural horror film that has drawn comparisons to It Follows.
Check out our exclusive trailer and poster below. The movie will be released on Digital on December 5 via Omnibus Entertainment.
In the nonlinear film, Andrea, a university student in present-day Madrid, lives a seemingly normal life, until one day when her boyfriend is killed in a shocking act of violence. She soon begins to notice a mysterious entity that follows her no matter where she turns.
20 years prior, Marie, a woman in Buenos Aires, suffered the same fate. Camila, a documentarian, learns of the threat these women faced, but no one will believe her. Across time and space, these three unconnected women are bound together by an inescapable terror.
Pedro Martín-Calero makes his feature directorial debut on the project from a script he co-wrote with Isabel Peña (The Beasts).
Ester Expósito, Mathilde Ollivier, and Malena Villa star.
A co-production between Spain, Argentina, and France, The Wailing premiered at the 2024 San Sebastian International Film Festival, where it was awarded the Silver Seashell for Best Director.
The film went on to be nominated for an Argentinean Film Critics Association Award, while Martín-Calero received a Goya Award nomination for Best New Director.
