Rejoice! GREMLINS 3 Is Happening, Locks In 2027 Release Date
Gizmo and the Mogwai are finally set to return to the silver screen.

It’s officially official! We understand this may sound like a false alarm or a broken record but, for all this time, Gremlins 3 is a go. Yes, really. Warner Bros. has announced that the Mogwai will make their return to the big screen in 2027. What’s more, original screenwriter Chris Columbus is set to occupy the director’s chair, with the one and only Steven Spielberg on board to executive produce.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav made the announcement during a recent earnings call. Gremlins 3 will hit theaters on November 19, 2027, just in time for the holiday season. It was reported earlier this year that a new Gremlins movie was in the works but this is the first time that WB has confirmed it, release date and all. Plot details currently remain firmly under wraps.
Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein, the directors of the smash hit Final Destination Bloodlines, are set to pen the screenplay alongside Columbus. There’s no word regarding the involvement of Joe Dante, who directed both Gremlins and Gremlins 2: The New Batch. Whether or not he’ll come aboard as a producer or in some other capacity remains to be seen. There’s also no word on casting. Will we see Zach Galligan return as Billy to reunite with his pal Gizmo? Or are we getting a new cast? For now, we have more questions than answers.
