It’s Sam Rockwell Vs. AI In New GOOD LUCK, HAVE FUN, DON’T DIE Trailer

We’re all worried about the future of AI, but what if we knew what was to come and could cut it off at the pass? It’s a pipe dream, surely, but one audiences can live out vicariously with the new sci-fi film Good Luck Have Fun, Don’t Die, which just released a new trailer that teases there might be some left for humanity after all.
The film, which stars Sam Rockwell, Haley Lu Richardson, Michael Peña, Zazie Beetz, Asim Chaudhry, and Juno Temple, follows a bedraggled man (Rockwell) who claims to be from the future — a future overrun by a malevolent, soul-possessing AI, or so he claims. As he takes the patrons of a Los Angeles diner hostage, he sends them on a quest to save the world, and change history as we know it, but will he succeed? We’ll just have to wait and see.
Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die is directed by Gore Verbinski, his first film since 2016’s A Cure for Wellness, the 2016 psychological horror that starred Dane Dehaan and Mia Goth as patients at a mysterious rehab center in the mountains. Verbinski is also responsible for the American remake of The Ring — though that is his only other horror title — as well as the first three films in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die is produced by Verbinski, Robert Kulzer, Erwin Stoff, Oly Obst, and Denise Chamian, with a score by Geoff Zanelli, his first full project with Verbinski after providing additional music for The Lone Ranger and the Pirates franchise. After its premiere at this year’s Fantastic Fest, the film currently has a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes — a good sign for Verbinski’s return to directing.
Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die hits theaters on February 13. Check out the new trailer down below:
