Fall and winter meet in the top horror movies on streaming this week, as a legendary film of scary season is competing with some of the best horror from the cold days of winter that are so soon to arrive. No one was really expecting Stanley Kubrick's only fright film to make an appearance this early in the year, but The Shining has arrived, possibly because the film is soon to come to IMAX screens. 

Robert Eggers' Nosferatu has also risen, like the fiend rising from his coffin right before he seeks his latest victim, back into the list without any warning. It may have something to do with the news that the director is assembling his team for his next film, Werwulf. With news of casting, background on the film's setting, namely 13th 13th-century England, may have inspired the curious to check out his last film.
