The second chapter of Blumhouse's box-office horror phenomenon Five Nights at Freddy's creeps ever closer, with today bringing a new featurette that teases one of the franchise's most iconic and terrifying characters.

Releasing on December 5, Five Nights at Freddy's 2 sees director Emma Tammi (The Wind, Blood Moon) return, as well as stars Josh Hutcherson, Piper Rubio, Mary Stuart Masterson, Elizabeth Lail and Scream king Matthew Lillard, who plays series antagonist William Afton. Jason Blum and Five Nights at Freddy's creator Scott Cawthon return to produce.

In Five Nights at Freddy's 2:

One year has passed since the supernatural nightmare at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. The stories about what transpired there have been twisted into a campy local legend, inspiring the town’s first ever Fazfest.  Former security guard Mike (Hutcherson) and police officer Vanessa (Lail) have kept the truth from Mike’s 11-year-old sister, Abby (Rubio), concerning the fate of her animatronic friends.

But when Abby sneaks out to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, it will set into motion a terrifying series of events, revealing dark secrets about the true origin of Freddy’s, and unleashing a long-forgotten horror hidden away for decades.

Wayne Knight (Jurassic Park), Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Afterlife) and Teo Briones (Final Destination Bloodlines) also join the sequel, along with horror icon Skeet Ulrich, making Five Nights at Freddy's 2 a Scream reunion ahead of Ulrich and Lillard's actual Scream reunion in Scream 7.

Back in 2023 Tammi's Five Nights at Freddy's was a huge financial hit for Blumhouse, racking up $297 million globally and subsequently becoming Blumhouse’s highest-grossing film of all time. A sequel (and potentially more?) should have come as completely unsurprising news, but we're still excited nonetheless.

In today's new featurette, Tammi, Rubio, Hutcherson, Lail and Grace tease the “creepy as hell” animatronic joining Fazbear and co.'s ranks this time around. If you're familiar with the Freddy's universe you probably already know that this can only mean one thing: the Puppet aka the Marionette. Gulp.
