Josh Ruben Goes Back To Camp With WILDERNESS REFORM Adaptation For Paramount

Actor, director and FANGORIA Chainsaw Award co-host Josh Ruben (Werewolves Within, Heart Eyes) has set his next project with Wilderness Reform, an adaptation of the 2024 novel by Harrison Query and Matt Query (Old Country).
In Wilderness Reform, a wilderness camp for troubled teens is plagued by mysterious events and disappearances, taking survival and discipline to a frightening extreme. No word yet on who will star, but Deadline reports that Ruben will oversee a script draft by Steve Desmond and Michael Sherman (M. Night Shyamalan’s Knock at the Cabin).
Published by Atria, Wilderness Reform racked up quality reviews from critics, with Marcus Kliewar, author of We Used to Live Here, calling the book “an ever-rising tone of dread that builds to a terrifying crescendo”. Gulp.
Earlier this year, Ruben's romantic horror Heart Eyes, starring Olivia Holt, Mason Gooding and Devon Sawa, made a killing at the Valentine's Day box office, introducing a new slasher icon to the horror world with the titular masked killer.
Ruben will direct Wilderness Reform for Paramount Pictures, with Lindsey Beer producing through her production company Lab Brew, alongside Scott Glassgold through his 12:01 Films. Look out for updates on the backwoods horror as we get it!
