In your restless dreams, do you see that town? Probably because Return to Silent Hill is creeping closer to its January 23, 2026 release date, with today bringing a new trailer that reveals more of the foggy nightmare.

Starring Jeremy Irvine (The Woman in Black: Angel of Death) and Jigsaw‘s Hannah Emily Anderson, Return to Silent Hill is directed and co-written by Christophe Gans (2006's Silent Hill), along with Sandra Vo-Anh, and Will Schneider, and is a direct adaptation of Konami's 2001 psychological horror game classic Silent Hill 2.

Evie Templeton, who voiced Laura in Bloober Team's recent Silent Hill 2 Remake, also stars, with Silent Hill music maestro Akira Yamaoka returning for soundtrack duties.

In Return to Silent Hill:

“James (Irvine), a man broken after being separated from his one true love (Anderson). When a mysterious letter calls him back to Silent Hill in search of her, he finds a once-recognizable town transformed by an unknown evil. As James descends deeper into the darkness, he encounters terrifying figures both familiar and new and begins to question his own sanity as he struggles to make sense of reality and hold on long enough to save his lost love.”

Return to Silent Hill, which hits theaters via Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting, comes as part of Konami's recent efforts to revive the long-dormant franchise, with the aforementioned Silent Hill 2 Remake and this year's Silent Hill f a hit with fans earlier this year, and the mysterious Silent Hill: Townfall still to come.

Pleasing us Silent Hill fans is a bit of a tall order, and so anticipation is high for the new movie. Luckily, Gans has reassured players that “Return to Silent Hill is an adaptation created out of deep respect for a true masterpiece of a game”, with Yamaoka adding that “the spirit of Silent Hill is intact”. And if anyone would know, it's him!
