Queen of cool Chloë Sevigny (American Psycho, Bones and All) and the equally cool FKA twigs (The Crow, The Carpenter's Son) are set to star in The Lonely Woman, the feature debut horror film from Augustus Muller and Jae Matthews, better known as the electronic music duo Boy Harsher.

Also starring Sturgill Simpson, Will Oldham, Jake Weary and Spenser Granese, the immersive film from Spacemaker and Base 12, in association with Good Bath, is set for release in 2026, per Deadline. Producers include Alex Hughes for Spacemaker, Craig Butta for Base 12 and Bruno Vernaschi-Berman for Good Bath. Riccardo Maddalosso at Spacemaker is executive producer.

Described as a “bleak, sensual and atmospheric horror-thriller,” The Lonely Woman is set in rural New England, and follows a woman marked by her first love’s death in a mountain tunnel:

Drawn into the mystery of a new disappearance, she finds herself confronting a seductive and terrifying presence buried beneath the town.

Over on Instagram, Boy Harsher describe The Lonely Woman as a ‘creature feature‘, suggesting that we might be in for some monster lovin'. The score will, of course, be provided by the synth-heavy duo.

As mentioned, The Lonely Woman marks the feature debut of Boy Harsher, but the pair previously made a start in horror filmmaking with the 2022 short and accompanying album, The Runner, which follows a strange woman as she travels to a secluded, rural town where her violent compulsions are slowly revealed.

Look out for more on The Lonely Woman as we get it. For more, here's all the monster movies we're looking forward to in 2026.
