Exclusive Trailer: Arrow Video Unleashes EVIL DEAD RISE On 4K UHD
This January, the great Arrow Video is unleashing Lee Cronin‘s Evil Dead Rise onto a stacked new Limited Edition 4K UHD release, and we've got the exclusive trailer today so you can reacquaint yourself with Maggot Mommy in glorious high definition.
Original Evil Dead master Sam Raimi executive produced Evil Dead Rise via Ghost House Pictures, as did Ash Williams himself, Bruce Campbell. Starring Lily Sullivan, Alyssa Sutherland, Morgan Davies, Gabrielle Echols and Nell Fisher (currently seen in the latest season of Stranger Things), the Deadite nightmare shifted the horror from a cabin in the woods to an apartment block in Los Angeles, following:
Beth's surprise reunion with her sister Ellie is interrupted by an earthquake that shakes the foundation of her apartment building. Amidst the rubble, Ellie's kids discover a secret vault hidden in the basement, inside which they find an ancient book bound in flesh and inked in human blood – the Necronomicon. As the building's residents are possessed one by one and the evil rises floor to floor, the family get-together becomes a fight for survival.
Following its wide release in April 2023, Evil Dead Rise went on to become the highest-grossing film in the franchise, nabbing over $100 million at the global box office. The pic marked the first Evil Dead movie since Fede Álvarez's remake in 2013, and the first following Raimi and Ghost House's new approach of hand-picking filmmakers to take on standalone stories within the Evil Dead universe (paving the way for Sébastien Vaniček's upcoming Evil Dead Burn and an as-of-now untitled film from Last Stop in Yuma County‘s Francis Galluppi).
