Creature designer Neville Page (Cloverfield, Prometheus, Star Trek) has created a new predator for the upcoming horror-thriller The Last Time, Deadline has learned.
The film centers on a cursed hourglass capable of transporting you back to the last moment you saw someone when they were still alive.
When a grieving college swimmer hunts down the hourglass, chasing closure, a predatory villain begins feeding on his grief, threatening to imprison him inside the hourglass’s landscape of memory and time.
Jake Satow (“The Dropout”), Chandler Riggs (“The Walking Dead”), Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers), Dominic Burgess (“American Horror Story”), John D’Aquino (Pumpkinhead), and Addison Bowman (“Outer Range”) star.
Actor Shane Brady (The Endless, Synchronic) writes and directs with Persephone Hawkins, Brandon Riley, and Emily Zercher producing.
“What drew me to The Last Time was the depth of what could be infused into the mythology,” Page commented. “The creature emerges from both emotion and mythology. The concepts that we are creating are so rich and meaningful.”
Page continues, “I have been fortunate to contribute to many productions that require a certain creative and emotional investment. But The Last Time is pretty unique in that I have thrown a lot of myself into it, for the love of the concept and the love of the crew.”
“My goal is to enrich the lives of everyone on our set, to showcase their fingerprints and input on the film, and to share it with the world as a group project,” added Brady. “Moreover, growing up in Tampa and getting to tell a home-grown story, with Neville Page as our concept designer? Come on. I’m living a dream right now!”
“The Last Time explores grief in a way that feels both intimate and mythic,” said Hawkins. “Shane has crafted a story that blends emotional truth with the unsettling unknown, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with this extraordinary ensemble of actors bringing it to life. Working with Neville Page as our concept designer elevates the film into something truly special.”
The Last Time is currently in production in Tampa and the Gulf Coast in partnership with Film Tampa Bay.
