Starry Eyes and Pet Sematary directors Dennis Widmyer & Kevin Kölsch will next helm the exorcism horror movie Thriving, Deadline has learned.
In the film, a heartbroken young women’s escape to Ibiza’s hedonistic paradise descends into visceral horror when an amateur exorcism forces her to confront whether her unraveling mind is creating monsters or becoming one.
Production is set to begin in early 2026 in Canary Islands, Spain. Casting is underway.
Lily Drew and Stephen Andrew Martin penned the script.
Thriving is one of the inaugural projects from Nina Pictures, a newly launched Dublin-based film outfit from producers Cameron Lawther and Gavin Kilduff.
Nina has partnered with Capstone Pictures (The Guilty, Fall) on a five-picture co-financing deal. The €20M fund will support elevated, commercial genre titles in the €3–5M range.
Widmyer & Kölsch also have the survival horror film The Swallow due out in 2026.
