A pizza floatie becomes a life raft in our exclusive new clip from aquatic survival thriller Killer Whale.

Lionsgate’s Killer Whale swims into theaters, Digital, and VOD on January 16, 2026.

In the film, “After a life-shattering tragedy, Trish tries to comfort her best friend, Maddie, by taking her on a spectacular adventure in a private lagoon halfway across the world. Their peaceful retreat soon becomes a terrifying fight to stay alive when the ocean’s most bloodthirsty predator seeks vengeance for a brutal life in captivity.”

The upcoming aquatic horror movie Killer Whale has been rated “R” by the MPAA  for “some violent content, bloody/grisly images, language, and brief drug use.”

Jo-Anne Brechin (Designing Christmas With You) directs from a script co-written with Katharine E. McPhee. Producers include Lionel Hicks, Steve Jaggi, and Kylie Pascoe.

Halloween 2018 and Fall actor Virginia Gardner, Mel Jarnson, and Mitchell Hope star.

The clip below appears to set up the survival scenario, in which a day of beachy fun leaves at least two people stranded on a flimsy pool floatie as a vengeful predator circles. In this case, it’s not a CGI shark but one angry orca.

Look for Killer Whale next week.
