The Death of Robin Hood has been rated R by the MPA for “strong bloody violence.”
The dark reimagining of the classic folk tale is written and directed by Michael Sarnoski (A Quiet Place: Day One, Pig).
Hugh Jackman stars as the titular outlaw alongside Jodie Comer (28 Years Later), Bill Skarsgård (IT), Murray Bartlett (“The White Lotus”), and Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place).
Grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder, Robin Hood finds himself gravely injured after a battle he thought would be his last. In the hands of a mysterious woman, he is offered a chance at salvation.
Aaron Ryder & Andrew Swett of Ryder Picture Company produce alongside Alexander Black of Lyrical Media. Executive producers include Jackman, Sarnoski, Jon Rosenberg, Natalie Sellers, and Rama Gottumukkala.
A release date has not yet been set, but The Death of Robin Hood is due out in theaters this year from A24.
