Childhood innocence becomes a nightmare in the teaser trailer for Pinocchio Unleashed, in which a wooden puppet comes to life — but not in the way you remember.
The twisted reimagining of the timeless tale is written and directed by Carlo Bath, who promises an emphasis on practical effects.
When an enchanted puppet breaks free from his creator’s workshop, he enters a fractured world ruled by fear and facades. Each step toward humanity forces him to make choices that test his morality. Along the way, he confronts figures who embody the themes of temptation, betrayal, and redemption.
Blending psychological depth, visceral emotion, and contemporary stakes into a dark fairy tale, the indie film explores what it means to be human through the trials that forge one’s character.
James Wingate, Stephen Guy, Jerome Wise, and Katie Jarvis star in the fantastical horror movie.
Bath produces via his Film It VFX Studio alongside JNR Productions and Mad Angel Entertainment.
Currently in production in London, Pinocchio Unleashed is aiming for a release later this year.
