In the wake of her feature debut Queens of the Dead, Tina Romero is heading into shark-infested waters.
Speaking with Fangoria in celebration of her late father George A. Romero’s birthday, Tina and co-writer Erin Judge revealed that they’re working on a “big gay ensemble” shark movie with the working title Jawline.
Billed as a “cousin” to Queens of the Dead, Judge teased that the film will feature “beautiful queer people on the beach” when a shark attacks.
Romero and Judge also confirmed that a Queens of the Dead sequel is on their radar for the future, but they expressed a desire to leave some breathing room before heading back to the zombie genre.
Now on Shudder, Queens of the Dead sees a zombie apocalypse break out in Brooklyn on the night of a giant warehouse party, where an eclectic group of drag queens, club kids, and frenemies must put aside their drama and use their unique skills to fight against the undead.
