PRIMATE Blu-ray Release Goes Chimp Crazy With Special Bonus Features
The film hits physical media this spring.

Keeping wild animals as pets is never a smart idea, but now, you can bring Ben the chimp home with you for some terrifying family fun. The creature feature Primate, starring Oscar winner Troy Kotsur, is coming to digital this week, along with a Blu-ray and DVD release hitting shelves later this spring.
Also starring Johnny Sequoyah and Jessica Alexander, Primate is set to hit digital tomorrow, February 10, with a physical release set for April. Directed by the same man who brought the killer creature film 47 Meters Down to life, the film’s synopsis is as follows:
Lucy’s tropical island homecoming was supposed to be beaches and best friends—not a fight for her life. When her family’s exceptionally clever chimp spirals into a savage rabid frenzy, the night explodes into terrifying chaos. With her father away and no help coming, paradise becomes a prison as Lucy and her friends fight to survive a deadly predator they once trusted.

The Blu-ray release of Primate comes with an exclusive set of bonus features that dive into the film’s savage frenzy, led by a commentary from director Johannes Roberts and producer Walter Hamada. Also included is a deeper dive into Roberts’ directing approach for the film, a featurette on the film’s cast, a look into designing the tropical villa that Ben terrorizes, and an extensive deep-dive on how Ben himself came to life through the use of practical effects and a real performer.
