Meta and XRTV have set the main cast for their immersive 3D horror series based on the hit A24 film Talk to Me:
Aubri Ibrag (The Buccaneers), Charlotte Maggi (Rebel Moon), Sofia Hublitz (Ozark), and Julio Peña (Berlin) have boarded as series regulars, with Charlie Hiscock (Ted Lasso) and Raff Law (Masters of the Air) joining in recurring roles, reports Deadline.
Currently untitled, the new Talk to Me series is being created exclusively for Meta’s immersive VR devices, allowing audiences to experience the terror firsthand.
Exploring the lingering fallout of supernatural contact through a new ensemble of characters, the series is set during a thrill-seeking weekend in Ibiza, as estranged friends Lauryn (Ibrag) and Keeley (Maggi) reunite with socialite Blake (Hublitz), alongside two British best mates (Hiscock and Law) who supply them with party drugs sourced from an island dealer (Peña). But what begins as a reckless escape quickly escalates when the group is introduced to a high like no other.
Production is now underway in Spain, with Craig William Macneill (Them, The Terror) directing all six episodes. Trent Atherton (The Wheel) penned the series.
Marking the feature directorial debut of Australian filmmakers Danny and Michael Philippou, and starring Sophie Wilde, 2022’s Talk to Me follows a group of teenagers who discover they can conjure spirits temporarily using an embalmed hand. What begins as a party game — filmed and shared on social media — quickly spirals into something far darker when one of them pushes the boundaries of the ritual for too long.
