‘The Mortuary Assistant’ arrives on Shudder later this month, and to celebrate, the streaming service has released a new poster and clip.
Soon, you’ll have your chance to be alone with the dead. That’s because The Mortuary Assistant arrives on Shudder later this month. To celebrate, the streaming service has released a brand new poster and terrifying clip, which you can check out below.
Directed by Jeremiah Kipp (Slapface) and based on the popular video game, The Mortuary Assistant“follows newly certified mortician Rebecca Owens (Willa Holland), who accepts a night shift at a mortuary, embalming bodies alone after hours. As disturbing events escalate, Rebecca uncovers demonic rituals, the dark secrets of her enigmatic mentor (Paul Sparks), and her own buried trauma—racing to survive the night before her body becomes a vessel for possession.”
Mark Steger (original demogorgon on “Stranger Things”, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark), John Adams (Halfway to Zen, Hellbender), Keena Ferguson Frasier (Lessons in Chemistry, Sistas), Emily Bennett (Blood Shine, Alone with You) and Shelly Gibson (Dust to Malibu, St. Elsewhere) also star.
Tracee Beebe and Brian Clarke penned the script.
In his review for Dread, Chad Collins wrote, “The Mortuary Assistant opts for fidelity, often to its detriment. It’s a barrage of easter eggs and iconography that fans of the game will know (not unlike Five Nights at Freddy’s), though the winks come at the expense of genuine terror.”
See where you land when the film arrives on Shudder March 27th.
